Hello guys!

Now that you’ve gotten to know Edison and EdBlocks as well, we can use EdBlocks to tell Edison what to do.

To do this we need to download a program onto Edison.

This time we will load a program that has already been made. Once we know how to download a program, we will be ready to make our own

programs.

So, to download the program to Edison we follow the step-by-step procedure below:

Step 1: We check our computer. We make sure that the volume on our computer is turned up all the way

Step 2: We open the EdBlocks app. On our computer we type www.edblocksapp.com in a browser.

Another way is to look for the word “Edblocksapp” on a search engine machine.

Step 3: We select “Menu”. After opening the application, we look at the top-left corner and we click on the Menu button.

Step 4: We select “Load Demos”. We find the “Load Demos” button in the list and click on it.

Step 5: We select “Follow torch/flashlight”. We find and click on the program titled “Follow torch/flashlight".

Step 6: We plug Edison in. We connect Edison to the computer with the EdComm cable.

Step 7: We get Edison ready. We push the record button, the round one.

Step 8: We look at the top-right corner of the app and we see the button “Program Edison”. We click on this button. A new pop-up message box will open. At its bottom, we click on “Program Edison”. Then we will hear the program being downloaded to Edison... once it is done downloading Edison will beep.We should not unplug Edison unless we hear the beep!.

Great! We have downloaded the “Follow the torch/flashlight” program to Edison.

To run it now, after unplugging Edison, we press the play button, which is a triangle.
